Peary's report cards; his high school and college essays; school notes; school notebooks; his school books such as "Elements of Moral Science" by Francis Wayland (1869), "Test Examples in Algebra" by Edward Olney (1873) and "A German Course" by George Comfort (1874); and his high school diploma. Included are also programs, brochures and booklets from Peary's school and college events and activities; copies of the "Bugle," the Bowdoin College yearbook; a set of playing cards; and Robert E. Peary's journal (1873).

Robert Edwin Peary Sr. (born May 6, 1856, Cresson, Pennsylvania – died February 20, 1920, Washington, D.C.) was an American explorer and United States Navy officer who made several expeditions to the Arctic in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best known for claiming to have reached the geographic North Pole with his expedition on April 6, 1909. Though born in Pennsylvania, Peary grew up in in Portland, Maine.
